Celtics beat Western Conference top seed Warriors in 14th straight win

-Ben Babcock

Thursday the top teams of each conference faced off in Boston. The Warriors got off to a quick start, leading the Celtics by 10 points after the first quarter, but the Celtics fought to bring it back within 5 at the half. The Celtics trailed for most of the game, down by as much as 17, until going on a 19 point run in the third quarter. After that it was back and forth between the two teams. Jaylen Brown lead the Celtics with 22 points and Kyrie Irving scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to secure the Celtics win. Kevin Durant lead the Warriors with 24 points, but the Celtics defense showed again, holding Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry to a combined 22 points. This win comes as another big step for Boston in showing what they can do, even without their All-Star forward Gordon Hayward, whom they lost to injury at the beginning of the season. The Celtics and Warriors will meet each other again at Oracle Arena on January 27th.
