After making noise with acquiring Antonio Brown Sunday morning, the Raiders didn’t stop there. Oakland signed Trent Brown Monday morning to a 4-year $66 million contract with $36.75 guaranteed. The big thing about this deal is that it helps shape what Oakland is doing. They shipped out 29-year old G Kelechi Osemele to the Jets Sunday night and now bring in 25-year old Trent Brown who just had a break out year with the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots.
The Raiders are also still in the hunt for RB LeVeon Bell as well. Jon Gruden is stirring something special for Oakland and it may be time for people to eat their words about what they have said.
Possible scenarios for Oakland could involve something like this:
- Re-sign TE Jared Cook
- Sign RB LeVeon Bell
- In the draft, spend two first rounders on defensive pass rushers and last first rounder on TE
- Pick either Anthony Barr or Landon Collins to go after heavily in free agency.
Not all of those options will happen, but they are all options that may be explored. New GM Mike Mayock has been impressive so far, lets see if he can keep it up and bring the silver and black back to contention again.
