Mastering productivity: Insights from Spencer Cartwright

Spencer Cartwright is a top-level international sailor who began his sailing career with the Bahamas National Sailing School (BNSS) at the age of eight. He has won four junior national championships in the Optimist Dinghy Class, more than any other sailor in the Bahamas, and is the reigning Laser National Champion. He has represented the Bahamas internationally at major world and regional events, and is currently the captain of the Roger Williams University sailing team in the USA, one of the top sailing colleges in the country. His next major goal is to represent the Bahamas in the 2024 Olympic Games in the Laser Class.

Spencer attributes his success to the love for the sport that he developed at BNSS, as well as the hard work, discipline, and determination he learned there. He values the friendships he made through sailing and the close-knit community of the sailing world. He also highlights the valuable life skills he has learned through sailing, including responsibility, critical thinking, and resilience, as well as the importance of being your own referee.

Sailing has not only made Spencer a decorated sailor with numerous national championships and international experience, but has also contributed to his success academically and socially. He encourages all sailors with the opportunity to sail in college, describing his experiences on the Roger Williams University sailing team as the best time of his life.
