The Bahamas cricket team faced a tough loss against Bermuda at the International Cricket Council T20 World Cup Americas Qualifying event in Antigua and Barbuda. The team finished with a score of 99 runs in 20 overs, while Bermuda scored an impressive 239 runs for six wickets in the same amount of time.
Kervon Hinds managed to score 40 runs for The Bahamas, but it was not enough to secure a victory. However, Greg Taylor Jr performed well, taking three wickets in three overs and conceding just 24 runs.
Despite this setback, The Bahamas had a chance to redeem themselves in their next game against Belize at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds in Antigua.
On the first day of the competition, The Bahamas returned to ICC competition for the first time since 2013, but suffered a 122-run loss to Canada. The team scored only 68 runs in 15.2 overs, while Canada managed to score 190 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Marc Taylor was the standout performer for The Bahamas, scoring 44 runs, while Jagnauth Jagroo took three wickets in four overs.
However, The Bahamas managed to bounce back in their second game against Argentina, securing a 12-run win. They scored 121 runs all out and limited Argentina to just 109 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. Marc Taylor was once again the top scorer, managing to score 60 runs. Jonathan Barry also contributed well with two wickets in four overs, conceding only 20 runs.
Although they started the tournament with a loss, The Bahamas cricket team showed resilience and determination by securing a win in their second game. They will look to continue this momentum in their upcoming matches.
