Bahamas suffers first loss against Curaçao

Curaçao outlasts Team Bahamas in a 12-10 victory at the 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup, despite a valiant six-run rally from the home team.

Team Bahamas suffered their first defeat of the 2022 Caribbean Baseball Cup, unable to overcome an early 10-run deficit against Curaçao in the tournament finale.

Despite Warren Saunders’ three RBI and Adari Grant’s two RBI, Curaçao outlasted the home team 12-10 in the highest-scoring game of the tournament.

The Bahamas got off to a slow start, with Robin Haven struggling on the mound and allowing several runs, while their offense failed to score in the opening inning.

Curaçao continued to dominate, tacking on an additional five runs in the second inning, while Ural Forbes got the first base hit for Team Bahamas in the fourth, but they still trailed 10-0.

However, the Bahamas offense came alive in the fifth inning, scoring a game-high six runs.

Despite their efforts, the team was unable to fully recover, and Curaçao ultimately won the game.

The Bahamas will face Cuba next, who won their tournament debut with a 9-0 victory over USVI.
