St. Augustine’s College Wins Senior Girls’ Title in Providence Basketball Club’s

The St. Augustine’s College Big Red Machine defeated the CV Bethel Stingrays 46-41 to win the senior girls’ title in the Providence Basketball Club’s Holiday Classic. Antonia Moultrie, the game’s most valuable player, led the way with 27 points, including 13 in the second half. Dior-Rae Scott and Arianna Gomez also contributed crucial points in the second half. The coach, Anastacia Moultrie, praised her team’s fundamental skills, with most of the girls being juniors. She was particularly impressed with her daughter’s performance, advising her to perform at her best as a 12th grader, as she will have to do the same in college.

The game started as a defensive battle, but Trinity Bodie of the Stingrays scored 17 points, including 12 in the second half, to keep her team in the game. Danielle McCoy added 10, while Geraniqua Bethel and Maquell Hall contributed eight and four points, respectively. In the end, the Big Red Machine’s defense held strong, and Moultrie controlled the game’s tempo to secure the win. Antonicia Moultrie also won the most rebounds, most blocks, and defensive player awards, while Dior-Rae Scott won the most assists award, and Danielle McCoy won the offensive player award.
