It is great to hear that Bahamian swimmer Ricardo Jolly is making progress as a member of The College of the Florida Keys (CFK) Tuga swim team. They recently excelled at the Stanton C. Craigie Memorial Invite, where all the swimmers achieved personal best times. This three-day meet provided another opportunity for the swimmers to qualify to compete at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)

Swimming and Diving Championship in Erie, New York in March 2023. Jolly qualified for the 50-yard butterfly and improved his qualifying times in the 100-yard Individual Medley and the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Tugas participated in the Lake Lytal Lightning’s Holiday Sprint Invitational in West Palm Beach on December 3, which provided the athletes with competitive experience and official times required to again qualify to swim in the NJCAA Championships. Jolly achieved four personal best times during this event, which qualified him for nationals in the 50 freestyle, 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, and 100 Individual Medley. Jolly also qualified for nationals in the 200-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard Freestyle during a virtual event at the college.

The Tugas, under the guidance of Coach Lori Bosco, will leave Key West on February 27th to travel to Buffalo, New York, to compete in the NJCAA national championship from March 1-4, 2023. It is exciting to see Jolly and the Tugas representing their college and competing at such a high level in the sport of swimming.
