Bahamian collegiate sprinter Terrence Jones won the men’s 60 meters dash at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships in Texas, clocking a NCAA Division I leading time of 6.46 seconds on Friday.

Jones, a Texas Tech Red Raiders junior, returned on Saturday to win the same event with a time of 6.48 seconds, securing the conference title. He placed four-hundredths of a second behind world leader Trayvon Bromell of the United States and took to Twitter to let the world know his intentions: “I coming for that world lead Mr. Bromell,” Jones tweeted. Jones was one of six finalists for Texas Tech in the men’s 60m dash, and they claimed the top four spots.

The Bahamian was not the only Bahamian athlete in action for the Red Raiders over the weekend. The reigning world junior champion in the 110m hurdles Antoine Andrews also competed in the 60m hurdles. Andrews ran 7.59 seconds in the final to finish with the silver medal.
