Kervon Hinds claimed a historic five-wicket haul for The Bahamas in the International Cricket Council’s 2024 T20 World Cup Sub Regional Americas Qualifier 2023. However, his efforts were in vain as The Bahamas finished 94/8, losing by 31 runs against the Cayman Islands.

The defeat places The Bahamas in third place with a 1-1 win/loss record and four points, with Bermuda and Argentina also competing.

The Cayman Islands won the toss and scored 125 all out, with Hinds completing a full spell and conceding just 18 runs. In response, The Bahamas got off to a good start, but their batting line-up faltered, with Ekanayake, Hinds, Taylor Jr., and Brown out by the seventh over. The partnership of Taylor and Benn was unable to pick up the run rate, and The Bahamas lost by 31 runs. The team will play against the host nation on Thursday, aiming to be one of the top three teams at the tournament to move on to the Americas regional final.
