Bahamas suffers defeat to Argentina in T20 Qualifier

The Bahamas senior men’s national cricket team suffered a 43-run defeat to Argentina, dropping them to fourth place in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) 2024 TwentyTwenty (T20) World Cup Sub Regional Americas Qualifier 2023. The loss leaves the Bahamas with a 1-2 win/loss record, with their final game against Bermuda being a must-win in order to advance to the Americas regional final.

The Bahamian team limited Argentina to just 117 runs for seven wickets in the first inning, but struggled to score, reaching just 15 runs for five wickets after the first five overs. They finished all out for 74 runs with three balls remaining.

Captain Marc Taylor and Jonathan Barry finished with three wickets each, while Sandeep Goud top-scored for the Bahamas with 12 runs. The Americas regional final is scheduled for September 2023.
