Great Britain, with a team consisting of Bahamian coaches and players, suffered two losses over the weekend in Pool C of the World Baseball Softball Confederation’s 2023 World Baseball Classic.
After lost to the United States of America 6-2, and they also lost to Canada a final score of 18-8. Great Britain made some changes to their batting order but could not produce enough firepower to secure a win. Despite the losses, the team is having quality bats and trying to push through it to stay in the games. Great Britain will play against Colombia today and Mexico on Tuesday. The Bahamian players are playing for Great Britain because the Bahamas was unable to field a team to go through the qualifying process. However, the Bahamas Baseball Association is working on the situation and working towards qualifying for a spot in the World Baseball Classic.
