Anthonique Strachan dominates MVP Velocity Fest 12

Bahamian sprinter Anthonique Strachan has kicked off her 2023 outdoor season with a win in the 100m race at the MVP Velocity Fest in Jamaica.

After posting a time of 11.42 seconds in the preliminaries, Strachan clocked a winning time of 11.02 seconds in the final, placing her second-fastest in the world so far this season. She plans to use this result to continue improving her performance leading up to the World Athletics Championships in Budapest in August. Strachan also had a successful 2022 season, clocking a personal best of 10.98 seconds at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Her next race will be in the 200m event at the Miramar Invitational in Florida.
