Double Crown Victory at RBC Spring Classic Tournament

The Royal Bank of Canada Spring Classic tournament concluded with more than 100 matches in the junior tournament at the National Tennis Centre. The final day saw eight head-to-head singles tennis matches and crowned double crown winner, Saphirre Ferguson, who won both the under 16 girls and under 18 girls singles action. Patrick Mactaggart split sets with his brother, Jackson, in a competitive showdown but Jackson took home the victory. BLTA President, Perry Newton, congratulated all the athletes and was impressed with the execution of the newcomers’ skills. The tournament sponsor, RBC, recognized the importance of recreation in building vibrant communities. Despite weather concerns, the Spring Classic tournament went on seamlessly with no injuries or issues.
