Laser Junior National Championship 2023: Results and Winners

Congratulations to Joshua Weech, Norman Cartwright, and Enzo Godoy for their impressive performances and placements at the Laser Junior National Championship 2023 held at Montagu Bay.

Seventeen-year-old Joshua Weech of The Bahamas National Sailing School / Nassau Yacht club defended his national title and won the championship for the second year in a row, placing in the top three in all the races and winning two. Fifteen-year-old Norman Cartwright of The Bahamas National Sailing School secured second place, while Enzo Godoy, also 17 years old, of The Royal Nassau Sailing Club, took third place.

The top three finishers received trophies at a presentation held at The Nassau Yacht Club, with Joshua Weech receiving the honor of having his name on the new perpetual trophy donated by Mr Paul De Souza, a head coach and accomplished Laser sailor.

We applaud all the participants for their outstanding efforts and sportsmanship, and we look forward to seeing them continue to thrive in this exciting and popular Olympic class boat. Thanks also go to the race committee volunteers and The Nassau Yacht Club for their support and efforts in promoting junior sailing.
