Bahamas’ Strong Performance at CARIFTA Track Event

The Bahamas team put in a commendable effort at the 2023 CARIFTA track and field competition, securing a total of 41 medals. While we may have finished second to Jamaica for the fourth consecutive year, we are proud of our team’s performance and the hard work they put in to achieve these results.

Our team showcased their strength and determination across multiple disciplines, including the sprints, middle-distance events, and field events. Our eight gold, 13 silver, and 20 bronze medals are a testament to the talent and dedication of our athletes.

Of course, we congratulate Jamaica on their remarkable 37th consecutive victory in the event. Their performance is a testament to their long-standing dominance in the sprinting events and their commitment to excellence in athletics.

Despite not winning the overall competition, our team’s achievements are a source of pride for our country. We believe that the CARIFTA games serve as an important platform for young athletes to showcase their talent and represent their countries. We are committed to continuing to support and develop our athletes to ensure their success at future competitions.
