Lions’ Junior Girls Secure Top Seed Victory

The Lions’ junior girls’ team secured their top seed by defeating the S.C. McPherson Sharks in two hard-fought matches. The games went to three sets each time, with the Lions coming back from a set down in both matches. The Lions won the first game 19-25, 25-16, and 15-10, and the second game 22-25, 25-23, and 15-13 on Monday. Although the Sharks played well, the Lions managed to hold on and secure the victory.

Patricia Johnson, the Lions’ head coach, acknowledged that her team had some jitters and made too many service errors. However, the team showed resilience and determination, which helped them win both matches. The matches between the top two seeds in the junior girls’ division were closely contested, with no set being decided by more than three points.

In the final set of the second match, the Lions fought back from being four points down to secure an exciting victory. Andria Nash was named the Most Valuable Player of the junior girls’ series.
