During the 2023 Bahamas Games, Grand Bahama made a splash in the Sailing and Opti Sailing events, showcasing some incredible talent among their sailors. The competition was fierce, but these skilled athletes proved their mettle and earned well-deserved recognition.
In the Sunfish Boys category, Ellie Gibson claimed an impressive 4th position, while Ayden Bain secured a commendable 5th place. Chelsey Bruey represented the island in the Opti Girls category and achieved a respectable 5th position.
Not to be outdone, the Opti Boys from Grand Bahama also put on a great show. Darren Cooper displayed his prowess and finished 9th, while Chase Thompson wasn’t far behind, securing the 10th spot.
Their efforts bore fruit as Grand Bahama proudly brought home several bronze medals. Congratulations to these remarkable athletes and the entire Grand Bahama team for their outstanding performances in the 2023 Bahamas Games!
