Deandre Ayton Empowers Bahamian Youth Through Donation

In his latest visit to The Bahamas NBA player Deandre Ayton gave Junior Achievement $10,000 to assist with their programs. The donation will assist with the Elementary, 4 Juniors, Aspire, Company, and Stem Summit programs. Ayton’s generous donation will contribute to admission fees and hot meals for 100 kids. Also, it will help to provide greater access and essentials needed by junior achievers, staff, and JA-association schools.

The Bahamian center expressed that the reason for his donation to JA was because he had the opportunity to go to the United States and see the many resources and risks they take and even when they fail they have the opportunity to try again.

Furthermore, he is simply happy to have the platform to give kids in The Bahamas a chance to try something they would like to do, fail at it, and have the opportunity to try again. Ayton’s goal was to bring the resources home rather than kids having to seek it overseas.

The JA Bahamas organization was grateful for the donation and intends to collaborate with Ayton on future initiatives that benefit communities and promote financial and economic literacy.
