The University of The Bahamas’ (UB) Mingoes men’s soccer team had a slow start against Inter-Nassau FC Blues in a game at Roscow A.L. Davies Soccer Field. But once they got going, not even a heavy downpour lasting 30 minutes could hold them back.

They dominated, winning 7-1 and securing fourth place in the BFA standings with a 5-1-2 record. Midfielder Peter Julmis kicked off the scoring in the 18th minute with a powerful shot, quickly followed by another goal from midfielder Stanley Grand Pierre.

Just before halftime, midfielder Ronaldo Green made it 3-0 with an assist from Nathan Wells. The rain poured down, making it hard for everyone to see, but the players pushed on.

After a delay due to lightning, the Mingoes came back stronger. Grand Pierre scored again in the 69th minute, followed by Julmis in the 73rd minute. Nathan Wells and Green also netted goals, showing their dominance.

Although Inter-Nassau FC Blues managed a goal from a penalty kick, the Mingoes were already ahead 6-1. And just to cap it off, Green scored his second goal in the 89th minute, sealing a thrilling victory.

Julmis explained that their slow start was because they sometimes underestimate their opponents, but once they got going, there was no stopping them.

Their performance, especially in the face of adversity like the heavy rain, demonstrates their unwavering commitment to success. With their recent victory, they’ve climbed up to fourth place in the BFA standings, showcasing their talent and potential.
