UB Mingoes’ Commanding Win Against Renegades

The University of The Bahamas (UB) Mingoes men’s soccer team sought redemption against the Renegades Football Club in a thrilling Bahamas Football Association (BFA) encounter, emerging victorious with a resounding 5-1 triumph at the Roscow A.L. Davies Field.

UB wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with midfielder Ronaldo Green igniting the scoreboard in the 10th minute, setting the pace for the match. The momentum continued to favor UB as midfielder Stanley Grand-Pierre, with an assist from Wood-Peter Julmis, doubled the lead with a clinical finish in the 32nd minute, ending the first half with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

The Mingoes carried their dominance into the second half, as midfielder Wood-Peter Julmis, assisted by O’Bryan Hinds, extended the lead to 3-0 in the 52nd minute. Despite the Renegades managing to pull one back, UB remained undeterred. Ronaldo Green showcased his prowess once again, finding the net in the 72nd minute, followed swiftly by midfielder Morgan Wood, with an assist from Green, sealing the victory with a 76th minute goal.

Reflecting on the match, Green expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, acknowledging the previous loss to the Renegades and highlighting the determination to reclaim victory.

“It was a good game and well fought by both teams,” Green said. “We lost the last time we played them and we had to come back with a vengeance.”
