We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Girls and Boys teams at the recent AISK Jamaica Soccer Feva U19 Football Tournament held in Kingston, Jamaica. Competing against over 18 teams from six Caribbean nations, our teams showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Despite stiff competition, our Girls Team emerged as first Runner-up, displaying remarkable skill and determination on the field. Although they narrowly lost to Cayman International School (4-2) in the Final, their performance was nothing short of commendable.

On the other hand, our Boys Team demonstrated resilience and teamwork, clinching victory in the Shield Competition. Their journey to success included defeating a formidable team from Trinidad in the Semi-Final and prevailing over Hillel, a local school, in the Final after a tense penalty shootout. Notably, our Boys were also recognized as the Best Disciplined Team of the entire tournament, a testament to their dedication and character.

At LCIS, we take great pride in our strong connections with schools abroad, fostered through sporting associations, the International Baccalaureate community, and our Round Square connections. Witnessing our students excel in international competitions like this brings us immense joy and fulfillment. These experiences not only allow our students to hone their athletic abilities at the highest level but also provide opportunities to immerse themselves in diverse cultures and perspectives.

Congratulations to the athletes of Lyford Cay for their outstanding performance and exemplary sportsmanship. We couldn’t be prouder of their achievements on the global stage.
