Queen’s College Junior Girls Dominate BAISS Once Again

The Queen’s College Comets junior girls have secured yet another victory in the Bahamas Association of Independent Secondary Schools Sports (BAISS) Soccer Championships. With an undefeated regular season behind them, the championship was the perfect topping for the back-to-back champions.

Assistant coach Dion Peterson praised the team’s talent and dedication, emphasizing their hard work and coachability. Despite a strong challenge from the Hurricanes, the Comets maintained control, particularly dominating the second half to secure the win.

Eydan Hamilton swiftly put the Comets ahead with a goal in the 4th minute, but St. Andrew’s Isla Lightbourne equalized at the 16th minute mark. Sera Maillis reclaimed the lead for QC just four minutes later, ensuring a 2-1 advantage at halftime. In the second half, the Hurricanes were unable to find the net, while the Comets extended their lead with two goals from Aiyanna Hernandez.

Congratulations to the Queen’s College Comets junior girls for their remarkable achievement. Their skill, teamwork, and perseverance have once again brought home the championship title. Here’s to celebrating their success and the pride they bring to their school.
